Save Our Shores Cleanup Data
Save Our Shores staff, Stewards and volunteers collect data at all of our beach and river cleanups. Our volunteers work hard to identify and count each piece of trash that we collect, whether it is a small piece of plastic or an entire couch!
We use this data to inform local, regional and statewide leaders on the most common types of pollution and debris found littering our beaches and waterways. Our data guides us toward solutions to the plastic pollution problem that is plaguing our oceans.
Data cards are provided by cleanup leaders on site. If you are a business, school or civic group holding your own beach cleanup, download the SOS data card below or report your findings to us via the online database link below.

The marine debris graphs below show what we've been hard at work collecting. These graphs help to understand which types of debris are most commonly found and the trends that occur throughout the years in concurrence with our advocacy work.
